In the late 1990s, many of the top riders felt they had achieved all they could in BMX Racing after repeatedly competing on the same tracks with the same flat start, roller, & table elements. Many elite riders even left BMX for other cycling sports in search of a new challenge.
Tom Ritzenthaler, a former BMX rider already an experienced track builder, knew changes were needed to revitalize the sport & inspire a new generation of athletes & fans. Pulling from his extensive knowledge of BMX tracks, Tom teamed up with UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and later founded EliteTrax and began to design tracks with innovative, never-before-seen elements that challenged riders and excited the entire industry.
Thus began the revolution of BMX Racing and the emergence of the Supercross format. With Tom & EliteTrax at the helm of the track revolution, BMX Supercross is now a global phenomenon in the cycling world with several hundreds of professional riders competing in front of massive crowds.
EliteTrax continues to lead the revolution it created by shaping & elevating the sport with the highest quality & raddest tracks in the world.

Alex grew up going to great lengths in order to ride his bike, spending countless hours on public transportation and traveling great distances just to go ride. After his childhood experience and spending a decade traveling the world on the Pro BMX race circuit, Alex discovered first-hand how difficult it is for the majority of people to go ride.
Alex started Action Sports Construction to bring cycling closer to every community, and to give easy-to-reach, low risk pump track and BMX track access to future generations. After several successful years building pump tracks for the Sea Otter Classic, Santa Cruz Park & Rec, Google and many others, Alex has now joined EliteTrax to continue his quest to bring BMX and bike riding closer to the people.. Alex shreds on a bike and will also be our go-to test pilot when needed.
Jason started racing BMX in the 80's when BMX was at it's peak in the Midwest. He remembers seeing Stu Thomsen, at Stow BMX, 360 over 'Stow Mountain', renaming it 'Stu's Mountain'. Jason got to race with legendary rider's like Todd Lyon's and Billy Au.. Jason took his previous experience from working with NBL and the Christmas Classic & NBL Grands over to GSX and EliteTrax - taking it to a global level.
When Jason is not busy keeping Ritz and the boys sorted on the road, he likes to spend time with his son Jack, ride the mountain bike trails, hit the slopes, play volleyball, and get some R&R at the 'lake house'.

Johan is mostly known for resurrecting BMX and being the brain child behind the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup and it’s inclusion in the Olympic Games.
Early on in his career with the International Cycling Union (UCI), Johan was quick to team up with Tom Ritzenthaler, where it was obvious that the BMX tracks of the 90’s wasn’t something that would bring success to the sport and keep the professional athletes involved.
After successfully managing the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup from 2003 to 2015 and bringing the sport to the next level, the goals remain the same. Continue to develop the sport of BMX by building great BMX tracks around the world.
